 Iconic Designer Issey Miyake Dead

He is the man behind the signature Black Turtleneck of Steve Jobs.

The Japanese designer has made his mark on sharp pleating, avant garde cuts, and signature fragrances.

Issey Miyake was 84. He died after a battle with Liver cancer.

Issey Miyake believed in creating items that are beautiful, comfortable and affordable.

As a child he grew up in Hiroshima. He was 7 when Atom bomb were dropped by U.S. in 1945.

He lost his mother three years after the Atom bomb attack to radiation poisoning.

Miyake, who famously said," Design is not for philosophy-it's for life" was a dedicated and one of the most innovative designer.

Miyake released more than 100 different perfumes and colognes. First perfume launched by him was L'Eau d'Issey.

His pioneering work in fabrics led to his most wildly popular design line -"The Pleats, Please" - in 1993, a line that was impervious to wrinkles.

Miyake was also awarded the "Japanese Order of Culture" in 2010 -Japan's highest artistic honor - for remarkable accomplishments.
